Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has engaged in discussions with his Lagos State counterpart, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, concerning reports of alleged deportation of Osun indigenes from Lagos to Ilesa.
An online platform recently published a story detailing the arrival of several luxury buses, purportedly carrying hundreds of youths who were dropped off in Ilesa. According to the report, these youths were allegedly gathered from various locations in Lagos, including Ajah, TBS, and the Island area, before being transported to Ilesa.
Adeleke, through his spokesperson Olawale Rasheed, confirmed the report following an investigation by a state-appointed team. Eyewitness accounts corroborated the dropping off of the youths in several luxury buses, suspected to be from Lagos.
Expressing shock at the incident, Adeleke urged Governor Sanwo-Olu to investigate the matter promptly and put an end to it if confirmed true. Sanwo-Olu denied authorizing such actions and has promised an immediate investigation.
Adeleke directed Osun’s security agencies to conduct surveillance in and around Ilesa to locate the deported youths and their destinations. He assured residents of updates on the situation and urged them to remain calm while security agencies carry out their duties.
