Governor Abba Yusuf has launched a ₦15 billion project to construct a three-layer interchange bridge at Kofar Dan’agundi in Kano. This initiative aims to transform Kano into a mega city and alleviate traffic congestion. During his site visit, Governor Yusuf reiterated his administration’s commitment to revitalizing the city center and emphasized the importance of improving traffic flow to elevate Kano’s status.
The project, awarded to CCG Nigeria Limited in December 2023, is scheduled for completion within eighteen months. It is part of a broader plan that includes another interchange bridge at Talidu roundabout to address traffic congestion effectively.
Governor Yusuf emphasized the importance of motorists adhering to safety regulations and utilizing alternative routes during the construction period to ensure smooth project operations.
According to Sanusi Bature, the governor’s spokesperson, infrastructure development, along with improvements in the education sector, is a primary focus of the current administration. Governor Yusuf is determined to modernize Kano and propel it into a modern metropolis.
Project Manager Gee Wang expressed confidence in meeting the project timeline and ensuring seamless integration into the city’s infrastructure. Similarly, Kano State Commissioner of Works and Housing, Marwan Ahmad, assured the public of the project’s timely completion.
