The Federal High Court in Abuja dismissed a recent bail application by Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
He sought release pending the resolution of the treasonable felony charge brought against him by the Federal Government.
Kanu, speaking from the dock, refuted claims of bail violation, stating that he evaded an assassination attempt, not escaped bail.

Justice Binta Nyako declined to grant bail, citing Kanu’s previous bail breach and the sureties’ request to be released from the case due to his disappearance, resulting in the forfeiture of their N100 million bail bonds.
