Lagos State Government has announced a new project focused on enhancing safety and efficiency for travelers and modernising interstate travel.
During a press briefing on Friday, the Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi, unveiled the Lagos State Interstate Park Accreditation and Passenger Manifest Digitisation project.
A primary component of this initiative is the transition from paper-based to digital passenger manifests across all interstate parks within the state.
This centralised digital platform will provide real-time access to passenger information, allowing emergency responders to act swiftly and effectively in the event of any incidents.
Larger parks with existing booking systems will seamlessly integrate into this new framework, while smaller parks will be equipped with devices and support to capture digital data on-site.
Mr. Osiyemi emphasised that the project is designed to streamline operations at all interstate parks, ensuring a secure and digital record of passenger information, thereby enhancing both safety and convenience for travelers.
He further outlined the benefits of the project, which include increased security for passengers, enhanced credibility for park operators, and improved planning data for state authorities.
