The National Examinations Council (NECO) has transitioned to a digitalized recruitment process for both internal and external examination supervisors, as well as assistant supervisors for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and the Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE). This move aims to curb irregularities in the recruitment process and enhance efficiency and service delivery.
According to Azeez Sani, the Acting Director of Information and Digital Communication, the shift from manual to online recruitment ensures that supervisor nomination forms, appointment letters, and e-photo albums are generated online. Additionally, routine swapping of supervisors and assistant supervisors during examinations will also be facilitated online.
Qualified teachers holding Nigeria Certificate In Education (NCE), Degree Certificate, Master’s Degrees, PhD, and Professors are eligible to apply as supervisors and assistant supervisors for either the BECE or SSCE, both internally and externally. Previously, the recruitment process for supervisors and assistant supervisors was manually conducted by the council.
