Hon. Isa Dogonyaro, a Member representing the Babura/Garki Federal Constituency of Jigawa State in the 10th Assembly of the House of Representatives, has passed away after a brief illness, according to a statement released by the National Assembly on Friday.
The statement, signed by the House Spokesman and Chairman of the House Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Rep Akin Rotimi Jr., expressed condolences and highlighted Dogonyaro’s dedicated service to his constituents and the nation. Known for his integrity and diligence, he made significant contributions to legislation, particularly in the areas of HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria Control, where he served as Deputy Chairman of the House Committee.
Elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, Hon. Dogonyaro was praised for his commitment to the welfare of Nigerians and his ability to foster friendships across tribal lines within the House of Representatives. Described as a detribalised patriot, he leaves behind a legacy of joviality, intellectualism, and strong bonds with colleagues from all parts of the country. Survived by wives and children, his passing is mourned by his family, constituents, colleagues, and the people of Jigawa State.
