Former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, denies being a fugitive and challenges the EFCC’s claims, stating that he was never invited for questioning.
Through his media officer, Ohiare Michael, Bello asserts that the EFCC declared him wanted without extending any invitation. He calls on the EFCC to provide evidence of the alleged invitation and asserts his willingness to cooperate with the law.
The EFCC had accused Bello of involvement in money laundering activities amounting to N80.2 billion belonging to the Kogi State Government. Despite an EFCC siege on Bello’s Abuja residence and a subsequent warrant of arrest issued against him, Bello’s whereabouts remain unknown.
